Second National Seminar on Forest Cover Monitoring

Forests provide support for communities and biodiversity. In recent years, the use of forests to sustain economic activities has affected the environment and populations. Knowledge about forests status is important to make decisions regarding their conservation and  sustainable use.

Jointly with The Nature Conservancy (TNC), KIMSA promoted a knowledge management process based on the information generated in the “Second National Seminar on Forestry Coverage Monitoring“.

Considering the relevance of the event in the framework of the implementation of REDD + programs and projects in Colombia, we document the exchange of knowledge and experiences, related to the monitoring of forest cover and other coverage at the national level, results of conceptualization and identification of strategic actions for the forestry sector.
