Climate action plan – Nariño act for climate

The climate actions at sub-national levels are essential to contribute to national climate targets. The territories, being nuclei of economic and social development, therefore represent great opportunities to carry out climate actions that protect populations and nature, while reversing climate change, reducing carbon emissions.

Nariño is a state of Colombia that it is characterised by its natural, cultural and ethnic diversity, its traditional development dynamics present opportunities for transformation to low-carbon climate management models that protect and guarantee communities’ adaptability to climate change.

In this project, KIMSA’s team generated the analysis of information and supported the development of the guidelines on climate financing, climate management model, transparency strategy and portfolio of mitigation actions. These inputs were incorporated into the Comprehensive Climate Change Management Plan – Nariño Act for Climate 2019-2035
